Passport just made it through the Chinese Consulate! After the nail-biting experience of getting the Russia visa approved, this one was a casual 3 day wait... but still. Now some overnight fedex action, and I'll be 100% certified to travel...
To (hopefully) keep in touch with friends and family while traveling solo for a month on the Trans Siberian Railroad from Moscow to Beijing.
транс-сиб = Trans-Sib, a common nickname for any one of 3 routes. странника = stranika, the feminine noun for "wanderer"
Route:
September 13: Moscow September 15: Board train 002, the "Rossiya" September 19: arrive in Irkutsk, Siberia Week 2: Lake Baikal & Ulan Ude Week 3: Northern/Central Mongolia - the boonies Week 4: Beijing and around October 9: Fly back to Portland
